About Us

Lauren is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Natural  Therapeutics Specialist, Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor,  Certified Wellness Coach, Certified Yoga Tune Up®  Instructor, Certified Yomassage® Therapist, and Certified B.E.S.T. Practitioner. She also holds certifications in Vibroacoustic Therapy, Sound Baths, and is a Reiki Master. Her love for dance and music has inspired her work in the healing arts to bring the freedom of flow into the therapeutic space.

As a synesthete, (someone with synaesthesia: a sensory cross-wiring in the brain) she experiences sounds and music as visual and somatic experiences. Through the integration of vibroacoustic therapy into her other modalities, she finds she can offer a peek into the multi-sensory experience she has with the healing arts. By creating more sensory connections in the body and brain, energy is able to flow more smoothly, which is the basis for health in both the ancient Eastern and modern Western models. She works to empower her clients to deepen their connection with their own bodies so that they may feel more embodied and empowered through an understanding of what it is they are experiencing and why.

She believes bodywork is a dance and that healing comes from tuning into the natural rhythms and vibrations of the body to help find each person’s unique harmonic rhythm and expression of balance.

Synaesthesia (n.)

From Greek: syn- "together" , aesthesis- "feeling"

Synaesthesia is the phenomenon in the brain where one sensory perception is crossed with another resulting in experiences such as the visual sensation of sound or the auditory sensation of touch. In her practice, Lauren has learned to use this cross-wiring to learn the language of the body and feel for what modality would best serve the matter at hand.

What Sets Us Apart

  • Vibroacoustic Therapy

“Vibroacoustic Sound Lounge technology generates a soothing 3-Dimensional motion delivered to your body through the combination of audio transducers, headphones and/or ambient speakers. The technology delivers non-invasive massage-like stimulation through audio frequency which relaxes the body and soothes the mind. This allows your body to find a relaxed state of being through a natural form of sound.”

  • BrainTap®

Meet the BrainTap®  headset used in our Cocoon Experience sessions and savasanas. This device utilizes synchronized sound and light (and vibration when paired with the inHarmony tech) to entrain your brainwaves to slower, meditative state promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and much more!

The BrainTap® headset uses unique frequencies of light and sound to produce incomparable brain fitness.

Think Better – BrainTap® gives you the gift of a present mind. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and distressed, you feel energized, focused, and confident.

Sleep Better – Retrain your brain to relax into your body’s natural sleep pattern and awaken rested, revitalized, and renewed.

Perform Better – As your brain develops a heightened sense of clarity and your energy returns to full form, your performance accelerates naturally.

The added dimension of the headset’s light frequencies lets you reach the most advantageous brain states possible without years of disciplined practice. It enhances sleep so you can awaken feeling rejuvenated and energized. It reduces stress, worry, and irritability while supporting emotional stability and mental harmony. By achieving the right mindset, you can lessen negative self-talk and self-destructive impulses and overcome bad habits, freeing you to explore an expanded self-awareness with boundless creativity. Best of all, you will experience the joy of higher states of consciousness where you attract and manifest your desires!

  • The Cocoon Experience

The Cocoon Experience unites the benefits of vibroacoustic therapy with brainwave entrainment to give you an immersive sensory experience like none other. Specially designed music is played through the BrainTap®  headset and inHarmony mat synchronizing light, isotonic frequencies, and vibration to draw your mind into a meditative state, relax your nervous system, and ease stress. Think of it like the opposite of a sensory deprivation float tank, with similar benefits!

  • Yoga Tune Up®

Yoga Tune Up® is a fitness therapy format focused on building healthy movement patterns that help eradicate pain, improve posture, and enhance performance. Through a unique blend of yoga, corrective exercise, self-massage, and breath strategies, a YTU practice will improve proprioception (body sense), interoception (physiological listening), and motor control (physical performance).

  • Yomassage®

Yomassage® is like no other wellness offering on the market. We create a total mind-body-soul connection experience that activates all of your sensory receptors and cultivates the ultimate relaxation experience. Yomassage is truly for every person and every body, and our practitioners are trained to make sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed at all times. You can experience Yomassage 1:1 or in a semi-private group setting.

  • VoiceBio™

Voice Analysis Harmony is a software developed to read the electromagnetic energies present to determine frequencies of lack and excess within the body. In determining these frequencies, we can better help the body establish harmony and health by supporting it with those specific musical notes. Just as a deficiency of vitamin C is remedied with supplemental vitamin C, so too is a deficiency of the frequency of the tone C remedied by supplementing the body with that tone.

  • Crystal Tones Singing Bowls

Immerse yourself in the transcendent sounds of Crystal Tones singing bowls. “Our crystal singing bowls are made of the highest quality (99.992% pure!) quartz crystal, making them incredibly resonant. The tones produced by crystal bowls are not just heard by the ear, you feel them in your body. Certain tones affect your energy centers (chakras) for healing, balancing, & meditation.

“Crystal Tones alchemy singing bowls are made with a unique, patented manufacturing process which is available ONLY with our bowls. This process makes our bowls strong and incredibly pure in tone.”

  • Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.)

“Developed by Dr. M.T. Morter, Jr., is a non-forceful, energy-balancing, hands-on procedure used to help reestablish the full healing potential of the body. The body reveals short-circuited neurological patterns as a result of unresolved subconscious emotional issues, affecting all systems required for health and wholeness. Those patterns can be demonstrated as tight muscles, dysfunctional organs or glands, emotional stress, or depression-type reactions. By accessing areas of the brain through a  pressure point type therapy, that is, touching certain points around the  head and body in a specific sequence while having you think about  certain memory stresses, the body begins to reconnect the circuitry with  the brain.”

  • HealthyLine SOFT-Mat™ InfraMat Pro®

HealthyLine’s patented technology blends far-infrared rays with pulsed electromagnetic field therapy to enhance your wellness potential through deep-penetrating heat to the muscles and negative ion therapy. Let your system recharge while you relax as both sound and far infrared waves move through the crushed tourmaline, jade, and amethyst of the mat, amplifying their beneficial properties.

Location

The studio is located within the Sawmill Village (Artisan Apartments) complex around the corner from Ponderosa Brewing in the Sawmill District.

1751 Bellamah Ave NW #2105

Albuquerque, NM 87104

Getting Here

If you are taking a rideshare service to get here, DO NOT  enter Synaesthetic Bodywork as the destination. Instead, put in the full address or a nearby business such as Ponderosa Brewing as Google Maps will not remove the old business listing and address and will take you to our old location off of San Pedro. We are not responsible for appointments that are missed due to entering the wrong address.

Finding the studio can be tricky so please read carefully (this info is in your confirmation email as well!)

The studio is on the SOUTH side of Bellamah ave INSIDE the Sawmill Village apartment complex. There is a sign over the door. Parking is available in front of businesses on either side of the street from when you first enter the complex up to the intersection just EAST of the studio.

DO NOT park past the intersection that heads to the cul-de-sac or behind the apartments as they will ticket/tow. The towing signs are for residents who park in front of the businesses, NOT FOR CLIENTS of the businesses (I know it is very confusing and I wish they had better signage).

Please call if you have trouble finding the studio and leave extra time when coming for your first appointment.

Enter the Sawmill Village Apartment complex from the corner of Bellamah & 18th

The studio is inside the apartment complex. Parking is available as soon as you enter and past the stop sign. It is a 2 min walk from these businesses.

Turn RIGHT at this stop sign

Take a right turn here. The studio is halfway down this street. DO NOT PARK past the intersection after you turn right. Studio is between Love Hair Studio and Urban Space Studio on the right side. (Towing signs are for residents, not business clients).

Studio is on SOUTH/RIGHT side

Parking is available on either side of street. DO NOT PARK behind the building. If there is no street parking, you may park in front of businesses (Ponderosa, Lost Cultures Tea Bar, etc.) either side of the street where you first entered.

Unlike good wine, toothbrushes don't get better with age. Make sure you replace your toothbrush every three months, and more often in cases when it is looking worn with wear. Check the list regularly Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress. Reward yourself When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back. Think positively Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.
